Goodbye, My Love (Roxanne's Ghost Saga #1) by Maggie Tideswell

Jess really wants this job. Her friend thinks she's perfect for it because Jess loves kids. Being a nanny was fun for her and she knew she could convince Dr. Arnold to hire a young woman vs an old one.  The fact it was Friday the 13th didn't matter to Jess.
Ben was still mourning his wife's passing. It had been a long, difficult year for him and his four-year-old daughter. A nanny was just what they needed to move on with life and for Ben to concentrate on his veterinary business.
The only issue is can they both survive his wife's sisters.

This is a touching story of love and loss. It will definitely pull those heart strings and tears. It's unique in the background as well. One would not normally consider the issues contained in the story. I'm sure they happen often though. The characters are well defined and the writing okay.

I did find issues though. The book reads slow. I think part of that is because of the order of the plot. I would like to have seen the prologue or first chapter telling the back story. When a chapter pops up that suddenly introduces Marigold and Daisy, you are left to guess what's going on. I would also have liked that same prologue or first chapter to include what happened to Amber at birth. I think it would already set the thoughts flowing. It would also make the story tighter.  More could have been included about Ben in those areas too. It just felt choppy as I read it and let the reader get lost.

I gave this one 3 cheers out of 5 because of the issues above.

Talking Tales Puppy's Bubble by Erica Graham

Puppy wakes from his nap and discovers a bubble. When the bubble moves on, Puppy goes searching for it. In his search, he finds many more bubbles.

Perfect way to get your baby talking. Sound awareness is the first step to talking. The story is simple and sweet, but your baby will love hearing it.

     I didn't find issues.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because little ones love to hear voices.

Heirs of Power (The Constellation Saga Book 1) by Kay MacLeod

Kitty Fairlow was extremely happy. She and her fiance Luke are planning their wedding.  Kitty doesn't know everything about her family's history though. She will soon find out she belongs to a very special group of people. Kitty always thought she was an exceptional hunter. She is about to find out there is more to her than that. The Tenebri are on the move and Kitty will be called to fight.

The basic story is terrific. The writing is good and the characters are three dimensional. The author includes very detailed accounts in this book. I enjoyed the easy going nature to this book. You will be surprised at what you learn as you read.

I did find issues. This book is an extremely slow read. There is plenty of action in the story but it doesn't move the story forward. It just kind of spins its wheels in place. You'll feel like you are zipping along and may have only moved two or three pages.  The other issue is this book is very complex. For the first book in the series, I'd like to learn more about who the characters are and what's ahead of them. In this one you sort of learn on the run.  Reworked, this book would be phenomenal.

I gave this book 3 cheers out of 5 because it just seemed to go on forever.

Operation Hail Storm by Brett Arquette

Marshall Hail is a billionaire and a grieving  man. His family has been gone for two years, but he just can't seem to move on. He wants to find the people responsible for his family's deaths. He'll do whatever it takes to find these people. Information from the CIA just might lead him to the people who caused him so much pain.

This book seems to say from page one, buckle up because this could get messy. Well written, plotted and crafted. The characters are well defined and like-able.  I love the names of the machines in this book. They are original. Incredibly intuitive on the authors part. We are given a snapshot of what our world could look like in the not too distant future. This book is very detailed and precise.

I did find one issue. The author seems to repeat himself in several places. It doesn't help the story to move when you do this.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it is an amazing book.

Beyond the Carousel (Wyattsville #5) by Bette Lee Crosby

Emory was married to Rose. They were a very happy couple and they had one child, Laura. Laura finds her prince charming. He's everything she should have wanted in her life partner. Franklin, Laura's husband is a stock broker. He's good at his job and enjoys it. Their daughter, Christine, finds her prince charming and moves back to her town of Wyattsville. Wonder what's next for these two.

The blurb on this book really misses the point  of this book.  Fantastic writing and characters who are larger than life, make this a fabulous book.   Tender and loving, this is one that will stay with you.  This book is full of passion and sweetness. It shows us deep love and deeper pain. There is so much more to this book. It's definitely the kind of love we all wish for. This book requires some tissues too. I love that this book is filled with tradition, family and love. Get your copy today.

I did find some issues. The first part of the book isn't needed to further the story. It could have been summed up in two or three sentences. The opening part sends the reader in a completely new direction.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 cheers. This book should be read by everyone.
